Bolton Chiropractor : Dr. Richard Waller

After serving for four years in the Air Force in the 70’s, I was eager to return to the classroom and get a college education so I attended California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California. Originally I was a Marine Biology major, but switched to Medical Technology after my first year when my interests turned to health care.

It was as I was finishing my training that I became interested in continuing my education beyond a bachelors degree and after much searching and investigation I decided to pursue a career in chiropractic. My mother had worked for two different chiropractors and I was able to get a close up look at the profession and I liked what I saw.

I was accepted to the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and graduated magna cum laude in December of 1983. Ever eager to continue my training after graduation, I began studies in Sports Medicine and passed the board exam to earn the title of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician.

Several years later I entered a three-year fellowship in orthopedics with the National College of Chiropractic and passed written and oral boards in 1993 for the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists.

After passing my state board exams, my wife and I moved to Massachusetts where I began practicing as an associate in two other chiropractic offices. When I decided to open my own practice, a real estate broker in the area told me about a dentist in Bolton who was building a medical building and was looking for tenants. I met Dr. Freidus who told me of his vision to provide office space primarily for medical professionals in a building that was modern, but “fit in” with the rural look and feel of Bolton. I leased space from him almost immediately and I began a solo practice in Bolton in 1986. Since then, I have sought to fulfill the chiropractic needs of the local communities with a “hometown” warmth and style of care, while providing high quality treatment backed by up-to-date training and experience.

Soon after opening my Bolton office, my wife Kathy and I started having children and now have four wonderful daughters. They are all adults now, but we still travel to watch them play sports or sing in concerts.

Not surprisingly, I often find myself frequently examining and treating my own kids as well as their teammates on the field. The coaches know they just have to motion for me to come over if there’s a problem and I’m glad to help. Our oldest daughter, Kim, is a researcher in orthopedics and our second daughter, Allie, is a project design engineer for a local medical device company. Amy, number 3 daughter, works for a multinational computer company, and Katie, our youngest works for a medical software company.

But that’s enough about me! I’m sure you’re visiting this site to improve or maintain your heath, or the health of someone else you care about.
